The common lounges aboard the Transcantábrico Grand Luxury Train are original 1923 Pullman carriages, true railway masterpieces that evoke the golden age of luxury train travel in Europe. ITINERARY OF THE TRANSCANTÁBRICO LUXURY TRAIN

 

Santiago de Compostela > San Sebastián (8d/7n)

 

Day 1 (Saturday) Santiago de Compostela - Viveiro

Reception at 12 noon in Santiago de Compostela. Visit and lunch. In the afternoon, coach trip to Ferrol, where the train and its Crew will be waiting for us. Welcome and settling in before travelling to Viveiro. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Viveiro.

Day 2 (Sunday) Viveiro – Oviedo

As usual, we will begin the day by enjoying our delicious à la carte and buffet breakfast. El Transcantábrico will take us to Ribadeo; tour and walk along the Beach of Las Catedrales. In the afternoon, Luarca, tour. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Oviedo.

Day 3 (Monday) Oviedo - Llanes

Visit to Gijon and a typical Asturian cider press. Lunch in Gijón. In the afternoon, visit to the city of Oviedo. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Llanes.

Day 4 (Tuesday) Llanes

Breakfast on board. Visit by coach to the Picos de Europa National Park, Covadonga Sanctuary and Cangas de Onís. Lunch in Arriondas. In the afternoon, Llanes. Dinner in Llanes.

Day 5 (Wednesday) Llanes - Cabezón de la Sal

During breakfast, the train will arrive in Cabezón de la Sal and we will go by coach to Potes, surrounded by spectacu­lar scenery and located at the confluence of 4 valleys. Visit of La Hermida spa, thermal baths. Lunch outside and free time. In the afternoon, we will visit Capricho de Gaudí, a mansion in Comillas. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Cabezón de la Sal.

Day 6 (Thursday) Cabezón de la Sal - Santander

After breakfast, we will depart in our coach to visit the Ne­ocave of Altamira and Santillana del Mar. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, Santander; tour of the city and dinner in a restaurant.

Day 7 (Friday) Santander - Carranza

During breakfast the train will arrive in Bilbao; tour of the city and the Guggenheim Museum. We will have lunch in a restaurant. Dinner on board and overnight in Carranza.

Day 8 (Saturday) Carranza - San Sebastián

From Bilbao, we will travel by coach to San Sebastián. Visit and end of the experience at the hotel in San Sebastián.

 

 

San Sebastián > Santiago de Compostela (8d/7n)

 

Day 1 (Saturday) San Sebastian - Carranza

Meeting point at a hotel in San Sebastián at 13:00 p.m. City tour and lunch. Later, a luxury coach will take us to Bilbao, where the Transcantábrico Gran Lujo awaits us. Welcome and settling in. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Carranza.

Day 2 (Sunday) Carranza - Santander

As usual, we will begin the day by enjoying our delicious breakfast while the train takes us to Bilbao to visit the city and its Guggenheim Museum. Lunch on board and trip to Santander. Tour, dinner and Overnight stay in Santander.

Day 3 (Monday) Santander - Cabezón de la Sal

Journey to Cabezón de la Sal. Coach transfer to visit Potes, surrounded by spectacular scenery and located at the con­fluence of 4 valleys. Visit to the Hermida spa, thermal baths. Lunch outside and free time. In the afternoon we will visit Capricho de Gaudí, a mansion in Comillas. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Cabezón de la Sal.

Day 4 (Tuesday) Cabezón de la Sal - Llanes

Visit to Santillana del Mar and the Neocave of Altamira. Lunch on board. In the afternoon we will enter the region of Asturias as far as Llanes. Dinner and overnight stay in Llanes.

Day 5 (Wednesday) Llanes - Oviedo

After breakfast we will depart with our coach to the heart of Asturias, the Picos de Europa National Park, Covadonga Sanctuary. We eat on board. In the afternoon, visit to the city of Oviedo. Dinner in the city and overnight stay in Oviedo.

Day 6 (Thursday) Oviedo - Luarca

Tour of Gijon, lunch; in the afternoon, visit to Luarca, known as the White Town of the Green Coast. Dinner and overnight stay in Luarca.

Day 7 (Friday) Luarca - Viveiro

While enjoying breakfast, we will arrive in Ribadeo, and then travel along the Lugo coast to Las Catedrales Beach. Visit to Ribadeo. Lunch in the town. In the afternoon, the train will take us to Viveiro; tour or free time, dinner on­board overnight stay in Viveiro.

Day 8 (Saturday) Viveiro - Santiago de Compostela

While enjoying our last breakfast on board, we will travel to Ferrol, where our coach will be waiting to take us to Santiago de Compostela. Tour. The trip will end in this city.
