The Transcantábrico Tourist Train was the first tourist hotel-train in Spain, which tried to emulate the mythical Orient Express, making its first trip in 1983 on a journey of 8 days and 7 nights.
During all these years it has been adapting to the new demands of the market, including new innovations; renovated suites, select gastronomy, highly qualified crew and a varied programme of visits and excursions. Today, it is an international benchmark for Quality Tourism, having reached a top position in the list of the World's Best Tourist Trains.
The Transcantábrico Train is one of the world's most luxurious and as such, it is designed to provide its passengers with comfort and exclusivity.
It has only 14 suites spread over 7 cars designed for relaxation and privacy. Each suite can be used individually, for two or even three occupants, as they are spacious and comfortable, lined in wood, with attention to the smallest detail. They are distributed in living room, bedroom and private bathroom.
The Common Rooms are original Pullman cars from 1923, authentic railway jewels. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily à la carte with the best gastronomy of its award-winning chef. In addition, the bar is permanently available.
National and international press, television, video library, library, board games, etc. are available in the lounges. The train also has a panoramic lounge, tea room and pub car, where parties, live music and live performances are offered.

Day I (Saturday) Santiago de Compostela - Viveiro
Reception at 12 noon in Santiago de Compostela 's Parador Nacional. Tour and lunch in the PN. In the afternoon, coach trip to Ferrol, where the train and its Crew will be waiting for us. Welcome and settling in before travelling to Viveiro. Dinner and overnight stay in Viveiro.
Day 2 (Sunday) Viveiro - Oviedo
As usual, we will begin the day by enjoying our delicious à la carte and buffet breakfast. El Transcantábrico will take us to Ribadeo; tour and walk along the Beach of Las Catedrales. In the afternoon, Luarca, tour. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Oviedo.
Day 3 (Monday) Oviedo - Llanes
Visit to Gijon, lunch. In the afternoon, tour of Oviedo. Dinner on board while we travel to Llanes. Tour, dinner, and overnight stay in Llanes.
Day 4 (Tuesday) Llanes
In our coach, we will go up to the heart of the Principality ofAsturias. Los Picos de Europa National Park. Lake Enol, Covadonga Sanctuary and Cangas de Onis. In the afternoon, Llanes. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Llanes.
Day 5 (Wednesday) Llanes - Cabezón de la Sal
In the morning with our bus we will go to Unquera, after visit to Potes along the gorge of La Hermida. Tour and lunch. In the afternoon, tour of Comillas, dinner on board and overnight stay in Cabezón de la Sal.
Day 6 (Thursday) Cabezón de la Sal - Santander
After breakfast, we will set off in the coach to visit the Neo-cave ofAltamira and Santillana del Mar. In the afternoon, Santander, tour, dinner and overnight in Santander.
Day 7 (Friday) Santander - Carranza
While we have breakfast, the train will arrive in Bilbao. Tour ofthe city and the Guggenheim Museum. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Carranza.
Day 8 (Saturday) Carranza - San Sebastián
After breakfast, coach trip to San Sebastián. Tour and end of trip in the Hotel Barceló - Costa Blanca, around 1:00 pm in San Sebastián.

Day 1 (Saturday) San Sebastian - Carranza
Meeting point in San Sebastian’s Hotel Barcelo-Costa Vazca at 1 pm. Tour of the city and lunch. Our luxury coach will then take us to Bilbao, where the train will be waiting for us. Welcome and settling in. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Carranza.
Day 2 (Sunday) Carranza - Santander
As usual, we will begin the day by enjoying our delicious breakfast while the train takes us to Bilbao to visit the city and its Guggenheim Museum. Lunch on board and trip to Santander. Tour, dinner and Overnight stay in Santander.
Day 3 (Monday) Santander - Cabezón de la Sal
Trip to Unquera by bus, visiting the gorge ofLa Hermida and Potes. Lunch; in the afternoon, we will visit Comillas. Dinner and overnight stay in Cabezón de la Sal.
Day 4 (Tuesday) Cabezón de la Sal - Llanes
Visit to the Neo-cave ofAltamira and Santillana del Mar, lunch; in the afternoon, we will go further into the Asturias region as Llanes.
Day 5 (Wednesday) Llanes - Oviedo

Day 6 (Thursday) Oviedo - Luarca
Tour ofGijon, lunch; in the afternoon, visit to Luarca, known as the White Town of the Green Coast. Dinner and overnight stay in Luarca.
Day 7 (Friday) Luarca - Viveiro
Trip to Ribadeo to explore the Lugo coast as far as the Beach of Las Catedrales. Tour of Ribadeo. In the afternoon, train trip to Viveiro, tour, dinner, and overnight stay in Viveiro.
Day 8 (Saturday) Viveiro - Santiago de Compostela
While enjoying our last breakfast on board, we will travel to Ferrol, where our coach will be waiting to take us to Santiago de Compostela. Tour. The trip will end in the Parador de Ios Reyes Católicos around 1 pm.
