The La Robla Express is a train born in 2009 that mixes classicism and modernity, built from the passenger cars of the BB series of the mid-twentieth century, it has all the modern comforts at an affordable price.
A train that takes its name from the line that used to connect Bilbao with the mining town of La Robla in Leon and that offers a cruise on rails to enjoy the beautiful landscape through which it runs.
The Tren de La Robla is designed with a classic and comfortable décor that invites you to relax, offering all the charm and comfort of rail travel.
The train has four sleeping cars with 7 compartments per coach:
The Common Saloons are three comfortable cars (bar car, restaurant car and lounge) with permanent bar service, equipped with large windows to enjoy the scenery.
Travelers have access to daily newspapers, magazines, library, video library and television. They also have PCs and free internet connection.
All carriages are air-conditioned and open 24 hours a day for your use and enjoyment, and are connected internally to allow free transit through them.

Day 1. Bilbao-Espinosa de Los Monteros (Friday)
Luggage collection at 2 p.m. at La Concordia Station in Bilbao. At 3 p.m. the group will be greeted on the train. Once everyone is settled, the El Expreso de la Robla sets off for Espinosa de Los Monteros. The bus will then take you the city of Frías and the waterfalls of Tobera. The trip ends with dinner and an overnight stay in Espinosa de los Monteros, a beautiful villa in Las Merindades, Burgos.
Day 2. Espinosa de los Monteros - Cistierna (Saturday)
While enjoying your first breakfast on board, the train will arrive at Mataporquera. From here, the bus will take you to the fascinating sites of Romanesque art in Palencia, along the Camino de Santiago- Carrión de los Condes, Frómista and Saldaña. We will tour the town, where you can also enjoy some free time before continuing the journey, visiting the Canal de Castilla and the Romanesque church of San Martín. Free time and lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue to go back in time with a visit to the Roman Villa of La Olmeda and its magnificent mosaic collection. Back on the train, El Expreso de La Robla will take you to Cistierna, where we will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3. Cistierna -León (Sunday)
El Expreso de La Robla will take you to San Feliz while you are having breakfast. The bus will then take you to León. Tour of its historic centre, San Isidoro and the Cathedral. Free time, to end the trip at approximately 2 p.m.
León > Bilbao (3d/2n)
Day 1. León - Cistierna (Friday)
Luggage collection from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at FEVE Station in León. Next, our bus will take us to San Feliz, where El Expreso de La Robla will be waiting for us. Presentation of the crew, accommodation and transfer to Matallana. From here, we will travel across the spectacular Hoces de Vegacervera, we will arrive at Valporquero, to visit the extraordinary Caves, famous for their stalactites, stalagmites and casts of whimsical shapes, and for its impressive Gran Rotonda, a vast open underground space of 100,000 m3. Next, we will return to the train to travel to Cistierna where we will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2. Cistierna - Espinosa de los Monteros (Saturday)
While enjoying your first breakfast on board, the train will take us to Guardo, a beautiful town in Palencia. We will then travel by bus to visit the Roman Villa of La Olmeda, with its magnificent collection of mosaics, before discovering one of the best sites of Romanesque art in Europe, in the middle of the Camino de Santiago. Saldaña, Carrión de los Condes and Frómista, where we will have lunch. After visiting the impressive temple of San Martín and the Canal de Castilla, we will head back to the train to travel to Espinosa de los Monteros, a beautiful village of the Merindades in Burgos, followed by dinner and spending the night in Espinosa.
Day 3. Espinosa de los Monteros - Bilbao (Sunday)
While you have breakfast, we will travel through the incredible landscape of the Valley of Mena to reach Bilbao. We will then visit the city and the universally known Guggenheim museum. Free time, to end the trip at approximately 2 p.m.
Oviedo – Oviedo (6d/5n)
Day 1 Oviedo - Viveiro (Wednesday)
Baggage collection from 14:00 h. to 15:00 h. on the 1st floor of the Renfe station (Ticket Offices-FEVE). 16:30h guided tour of Oviedo, including the Cathedral and the Holy Chamber. Welcome on board, presentation of the crew and accommodation. Catering dinner on board, while the train heads for Galicia. Night as we move to Viveiro.
Day 2 Viveiro (Thursday)
Early arrival in Viveiro. We start the morning as every day enjoying a delicious breakfast buffet. After breakfast, transfer to Ferrol by coach for the pilgrims who wish to walk the first stage; Ferrol – Pontedeume (26 Km.). For those who do not want to walk, coach ride to the northernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula, the Estaca de Bares cape, later visiting the Beach of Bares and O Barqueiro, with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer of the visitors to the train, on the other hand, pick up the walkers in Pontedeume to return to Viveiro. Free time for dinner and night on board in Viveiro.
Day 3 Viveiro – Ortigueira (Friday)
As we have breakfast, the train will move to Ortigueira. From here by coach, we will bring the Pilgrims to Pontedeume, to start their second stage to Abegondo (31 Km). Visitors will make a tour to the Sanctuary of San Andrés de Teixido and Cedeira, with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer of the visitors to the train and pick up the walkers in Abegondo to return to Ortigueira. Free time for dinner and night in Ortigueira.
Day 4 Ortigueira – Ferrol (Saturday)
While having breakfast, the train will travel to Ferrol, then the coach will bring the pilgrims to the starting point of the third stage: Abegondo - A Calle (25 Km). The rest of the Guests will approach A Coruña on the bus where we will spend the morning, enjoying a free time for the lunch. In the afternoon, return to the train in Ferrol. That night we will have dinner together at a typical Pulpería (Octopus shop). Overnight in Ferrol.
Day 5 Ferrol – Santiago de Compostela – Oviedo (Sunday)
After breakfast on board, transfer of the pilgrims by coach to A Calle, the beginning of the fourth and final stage, which will allow them to reach Santiago de Compostela (27 Km.). Once in Santiago you will have free time until the afternoon. The rest of the Guests will departure by coach from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela. Free time in Santiago.
By late afternoon, pilgrims and tourists will get back to the train in Ferrol. While enjoying dinner on board (catering) the train will depart for Oviedo. Overnight on board while moving.
Day 6 Oviedo (Monday)
Early arrival of the train in Oviedo. Breakfast on board and farewell to the crew and the train, ending the journey around 11.00h.
