
The Costa Verde Express Luxury Train is one of Spain’s most exclusive rail journeys, introduced by Renfe as a premium addition to its luxury train collection. Inspired by the lush “Green Coast” of northern Spain, the train travels through the breathtaking landscapes of the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia, offering an immersive journey through one of Europe’s most unspoilt regions.
This six-day, five-night luxury rail experience invites travellers to relive the glamour of 1920s rail travel, seamlessly combined with the refined comforts, personalized service and attention to detail expected of a 21st-century luxury journey. Each day unfolds at an unhurried pace, allowing guests to savour scenic beauty, cultural heritage and elegant onboard living.

Grand Class Suites
The train features 23 elegant Grand Class Suites, each crafted to offer a warm, refined and intimate atmosphere. Rich hardwood panelling enhances the sense of timeless elegance, while the carefully designed layout ensures both comfort and functionality.
Each suite is equipped with: a comfortable double bed, individually controlled air conditioning, writing desk and seating area, wardrobe, luggage rack, minibar and in-room safe.
All suites include a private en-suite bathroom with shower, hairdryer and a curated selection of luxury welcome amenities and toiletries, ensuring a restful and indulgent onboard stay.


The Common Rooms of the Costa Verde Express are housed within four beautifully restored historic carriages—true railway jewels admired for their craftsmanship, design and elegant finishes. These spaces form the social heart of the train and offer a sophisticated setting for relaxation and leisure.
Guests may enjoy: a stylish pub car featuring a bar and dance floor, an additional bar lounge for relaxed drinks and conversation. Two refined salon lounges ideal for reading, board games or simply admiring the passing scenery through expansive panoramic windows.
All carriages are internally connected, allowing guests to move freely throughout the train at any time. To enhance the onboard experience, passengers also have access to daily newspapers, magazines, books, television and a video library, ensuring every moment on board is as pleasurable as it is memorable.

Santiago de Compostela > Bilbao (6d/5n)
Day 1: Santiago de Compostela – Viveiro (Saturday)
Reception at 10:00 a.m. at the Parador de los Reyes Católicos, in Santiago de Compostela. Tour of the city and lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, our coach will take us to the train that will be waiting for us in Ferrol. Welcome. Visit to Viveiro. Dinner on board the train and overnight stay in Viveiro.
Day 2: Viveiro – Luarca (Sunday)
During breakfast, the train will arrive in Ribadeo. From here, we will travel by coach to Taramundi to visit the ethnographic complex of ‘Os Teixois’. In the afternoon, we will visit Luarca. Tour and dinner on board. Overnight stay in Luarca.
Day 3: Luarca – Llanes (Monday)
Early departure to reach Oviedo. Visit to a typical Asturian cider mill, free time in Gijón and lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Oviedo. Then, we will head to Llanes by train. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Llanes.
Day 4: Llanes – Cabezón de la Sal (Tuesday)
After breakfast, we will travel by coach to visit the heart of the Picos de Europa, in Arenas de Cabrales, birthplace of the famous cheese that bears its name. Lunch will be at a restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit the town of Llanes, before heading to Cabezón de la Sal. Dinner will be on board. Overnight stay in Cabezón de la Sal.
Day 5: Cabezón de La Sal – Santander (Wednesday)
After breakfast, we will visit Santillana del Mar and the Neocave of Altamira. After lunch on board, we will arrive by train to Santander. Tour of the city. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay in Santander.
Day 6: Santander – Bilbao (Thursday)
During breakfast, we will arrive in Bilbao, where we will bid farewell to the train and its crew. Visit to the city and the Guggenheim Museum. Lunch at an outdoor restaurant and end of the trip.
Bilbao > Santiago de Compostela (6d/5n)
Day 1: Bilbao – Santander (Saturday)
Reception at 10:00 a.m. at Bilbao-Concordia Station. Welcome on board the train. Visit to the city and the Guggenheim Museum. Lunch on board while the train then departs for Santander. Visit, dinner and overnight stay in Santander.
Day 2: Santander – Llanes (Sunday)
While enjoying breakfast on board the train, we will arrive in Cabezón de la Sal. Visit to Santillana del Mar and the Neocave of Altamira. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, the train will depart for Llanes, which we will tour. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight stay in Llanes.
Day 3: Llanes – Oviedo (Monday)

Day 6: Viveiro – Santiago de Compostela (Thursday)
On our last day, while enjoying breakfast, we will arrive in Ferrol. Farewell to the crew, followed by coach trip to Santiago de Compostela. Tour and lunch at the Parador de los Reyes Católicos, where we will say goodbye.
