LUXURY TRAIN COSTA VERDE EXPRESS

El The Costa Verde Express Luxury Train  is a new tourist product that Renfe included in the offer for the 2022 season along with the other trains that were already available (Transcantábrico, Costa Verde and Robla). Its name refers to green fields of Spain, covering the four regions of the Cantabrian Coast that the train travels through on its journey.

A journey of six days and five nights in which the traveller will travel through the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia feeling like a passenger from the 1920s, but with all the comforts and attentions of the 21st century

ACCOMMODATION ON THE COSTA VERDE EXPRESS

The Costa Verde Express Luxury Train is designed for its passengers to enjoy the most comfortable stay on board.

Only one type of suite (Grand Class) is available for relaxation. Each of the 23 Suites available has hardwood panelling, which creates a warm and cosy atmosphere. They have air conditioning with independent regulator and double bed. They also have a desk, wardrobe, luggage rack, minibar and safe.

All suites have a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer and a variety of welcome and toiletries. 

The Common Rooms is made up of four carriages that are true railway jewels. They are the most beautiful and unique part of the train, arousing admiration for their designs and finishes.

Passengers travelling on board the Costa Verde can enjoy a bar and dance floor in the pub car. There is also another bar car where you can enjoy a relaxing drink. And two other lounges where you can read, play board games, talk or contemplate the scenery through the large windows. 

All carriages are connected internally to allow passengers to move freely. In addition, passengers have at their disposal daily newspapers, magazines, books, television, video library and much more. Everything to make your journey a real pleasure.

COSTA VERDE EXPRESS TRAIN TRAVEL ITINERARY

Santiago de Compostela > Bilbao  (6d/5n)

Day 1. Santiago de Compostela-Viveiro (Saturday)

Reception in Santiago de Compostela’s Parador Nacional Reyes Catolicos at 10 am. Tour of Santiago and lunch. In the afternoon, coach trip to catch the train in Ferrol. Unpacking. Tour of Viveiro, dinner, and overnight stay in Viveiro. .

Day 2.  Viveiro-Oviedo (Sunday)

While having breakfast on board the train, we will travel to Ribadeo; tour and lunch. In the afternoon, we will travel by train to the first Asturian locality, Luarca; tour and dinner on board while travelling to Oviedo.

Day 3. Oviedo-Llanes (Monday)

After breakfast, tour of Gijon; lunch. in the afternoon, tour of Oviedo. We will then travel by train to Llanes. Dinner on board, and overnight stay in Llanes.

Day 4. Llanes-Cabezón de la Sal (Tuesday)

After breakfast, coach trip to the Covadonga Sanctuary, Lake Enol and Cangas de Onis. Lunch. in the afternoon, tour of the town of Llanes, thereafter travelling to Cabezon de la Sal while having dinner. Overnight stay in Cabezon de la Sal. .

Day 5. Cabezón de la Sal-Santander (Wednesday)

After breakfast, we will visit Santillana del Mar and the Neo-cave of Altamira. Lunch in Santillana, in the afternoon tour of Santander, dinner and overnight in Santander. 

Day 6. Santander-Bilbao (Thursday)

During breakfast, the train will travel to Bilbao. Tour and lunch. After lunch, we will go back to the train to pick up our luggage at around 4 pm.

Bilbao > Santiago de Compostela (6d/5n)

Day 1. Bilbao-Santander  (Saturday)

Reception in Bilbao-Concordia Station at 10 am on board the train. Unpacking. Tour of the city and Guggenheim Museum. Lunch on board while the train sets off for Santander. In the afternoon, tour of the city and dinner. Overnight stay in Santander.. 

Day 2. Santander-Llanes (Sunday)

While having breakfast, we will travel by train to Cabezon de la Sal; tour of Santillana del Mar and the Neo-cave of Altamira. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will travel by train to Llanes; tour. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Llanes. . 

Day 3. Llanes-Oviedo (Monday)

After breakfast, we will travel by coach to Cangas de Onis, Covadonga Sanctuary and Lake Enol in the Picos de Europa mountains. We will then return to the train to travel to Oviedo while having lunch. Tour of Oviedo. Dinner and overnight stay in Oviedo. 

Day 4. Oviedo-Luarca (Tuesday)

After breakfast, tour of Gijon; lunch. In the afternoon, we will travel by train to Luarca, tour, dinner on board, and overnight stay in Luarca.

Day 5. Luarca-Viveiro (Wednesday)

While having breakfast, we will travel to Ribadeo, Tour and lunch in Ribadeo. In the afternoon, Viveiro. Tour, dinner and overnight stay in Viveiro..

Day 6. Viveiro-Santiago de Compostela (Thursday)

On our last day, while having breakfast, we will travel to Ferrol and say goodbye to the crew before travelling by coach to Santiago de Compostela. Tour and lunch in the Parador Reyes Catolicos, where the trip will end around 4 pm..
